Several 8th-graders listed above did not make the band last year as 7th-graders, but kept trying until they made it this year. Persistence and practice pays off! Kudos to every Salem Band student who prepared the material and auditioned! I was so proud to see the army of Salem Band students walking the halls of Durant Road Middle School.

I couldn't be more proud of our Salem students for preparing the material and “going for it”!

Thank you, Salem Band Parents for representing our school as volunteers, for driving across the county to Durant Road, and for supporting your children in their musical journey. Bravo!!

6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, and Jazz Band are preparing an exciting concert to be performed December 4, 2007 at 7:00PM in the gym. Please come support our students’ hard work and talent.

Pep Band enjoyed supporting our football team during a successful football season. I appreciate the efforts of over 60 Band students who volunteered their afternoons to play in Pep Band in a most spirited way!

Our band district includes everywhere from eastern Wake County to western Guilford County , and from southern Randolph County to the Virginia state line.

All Salem students who auditioned are to be commended for setting goals and following through with this very worthwhile process!

A special "Hats Off" to those who were at Salem at 5:40 on Saturday morning. A VERY special "Hats Off" to those who were tracked out and made special arrangements to attend.
